WWL-Channel 4 evening anchor Lucy Bustamante gets her shot at the hot seat today (August 17) as she subs for Kelly Ripa on the nationally syndicated "Live! with Regis and Kelly."
Bustamante won the honor of going toe-to-toe with Regis Philbin by viewer vote - a show promotion titled "From Local to 'Live!'"
Five female local news anchors from around the country are working on "Live!" throughout the week.
News dudes, sitting in with Ripa and pinch-hitting for Philbin, went the week of August 3.
Scheduled guests on Monday's "Live!" are Jordin Sparks (an "American Idol"-launched singing star), Carrie Ann Inaba (currently starring on Broadway in the musical "Burn the Floor") and Diane Kruger ("Inglorious Basterds").
"Live!" airs locally at 9 a.m. on WWL-TV.
