Jennifer Hudson has had a year of milestones, both triumphant (with her first Grammy award) and tragic (with the murder of her mother, brother, and nephew).
Late Monday night, however, Jennifer had a new reason to celebrate. She gave birth to her first child, a son, named David Daniel Otunga, Jr. after her fiancé, David Otunga. The couple have been engaged for more than a year, but due to the loss that the Hudson family suffered in October, they have not yet set a date for their marriage.
Interestingly enough, Jennifer never formally announced that she was pregnant. There was a lot of media speculation, though, especially after Hudson performed at Michael Jackson's Memorial Service looking rather round.
Jennifer's representative, Lisa Kasteler, made a public statment after the birth of David, Jr. She said,
"The baby is beautiful and perfect. His parents are ecstatic."
Best wishes to Jennifer and David, who deserve some happiness in their lives after a tumultuous year.
