SPOKANE, Wash. — A Spokane used car dealer says the "cash-for-clunkers" program will hurt small dealers and make it harder for low-income people to buy cars.

Jennifer Johnson of Jennifer's Auto Sales & Service told The Spokesman-Review her sales died when the "cash-for-clunkers" program began. And she predicts people will be unable to find cars in the $3,000-to-$4,000 range and will have to pay more for transportation.

Johnson says the destruction of the clunker trade-ins is a waste of inventory that could be reused and resold.
