A report in Corriere dello Sport this morning claims that AC Milan will make a move for Brazilian left back Andre Santos in the next few days.

Having completed the signing of Oguchi Onyewu, the Rossoneri are eager to sign a starting left defender after the move for FC Porto’s Aly Cissokho fell through. The French defender said this week that "the deal was blocked due to an economic problem."

AC Milan general director Ariedo Braida is currently in Brazil having represented the club at the wedding of Alexandre Pato and will start negotiations for Corinthians' attacking-minded defender Andre Santos.

Braida is due to attend the match between Corinthians and Fluminense tonight and AC Milan will likely offer around seven million euros for Andre Santos with the player’s representatives looking for 10 million euros.

Santos is owned by three groups, one of which is Corinthians, so the negotiations are expected to be somewhat complicated.

Andre Santos was also recently linked with Juventus after breaking into the Brazil first team during the Confederations Cup.

The 26-year-old is currently the first choice left-back for Brazil coach Dunga, which has alerted a number of major clubs in Europe.
